Baba Balak Nath Temple, Chakmoh,Deothsidh

This temple is situated in village Chakmoh of district Hamirpur. It is 45 Kilometers from Hamirpur and is on the border of Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts. It is one of famous temples of the Northern India. It is situated on the top of a magnificent hill. There is a cave carved out of a rock which is stated to be the abode of Babaji. An idol of Babaji is placed in this cave. The devotees offer ‘Rot’ prepared with floor and Sugar / Gur at the altar of Babaji. Some of the devotees offer goats. Entry of females in the cave is forbidden. There is a raised platform just opposite to the cave from where the females can have ‘Darshan’ of Babaji. Six kilometers from this temple, there is a place called Shah-talai where Baba is said to have practiced penance. There is a trust namely ‘Sidh Baba Balak Nath Temple Trust’ that keeps a watch on the functioning of the temple. ‘Mela’s are organized during Holi festival. Sunday is considered auspicious day of Babaji and consequently attracts huge devotees on this day. 


Deotsidh is 45 Kilometers from "Hamirpur" Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh and is on the border of Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh, India. Baba Balak Nath Temple is situated at the village of "Chakmoh" in the district of Hamirpur on the hill top, in a natural cave/"Gufa" carved in the hills, considered to be the abode of Baba. An Idol-Image of Baba is placed in the cave. The devotees offer Sweet Indian Flour Bread - "Roti" (a bread made of raw sugar/"Gur" - Jaggery mixed with wheat flour and cooked in Pure Ghee)at the altar of Baba, ( When pure clarified sugarcane juice is boiled, what is left as solid is called as Gur which is called jaggery also). Goats are also offered to Baba as a gesture for his love. Goats are not slaughtered though; rather they are being fed and taken care of. The entry of women devotees is prohibited in the cave. However, there is a raised platform just opposite to the cave from where the women can have Darshan of the Babaji's Idol. Just 6 (six) kilometers ahead of the "Deot-Sidh" Temple, there is a small town named "Shah-talai” where Babaji is said to have practiced penance. The ancient name of this place was Changer-Talai. Baba Balak Nath’s worship and grazing Mata Ratno’s cattle’s, later returning her mattress of Chach-it got famous by the name of Chahtalai which later turned to Shahtalai, where Baba is said to have practiced disambiguationDhyana meditation. In jhelum district of Punjab Pakistan there is a famous tilla yogian near rohtas fort . This tilla is just like one in Himachal and is also known to be the balak nath tilla in heer ranjha love story . Ranjha went to see baba balak nath and became jogi by having put rings in his ears (symbol to be Jogi of baba balak nath) still there are underground worship places and big mandars ponds gophas . at that time nath family had jageer of nawongran nine villages around tilla jogian called badobalola gharmala dharyala jango raryala nathwala khurdchotala (vill.of Sunil dutt) hoon mohala. bajwala and so on all estate of Ballak nath .Nath wala was baba's hometown next to gateway to tilla jogian.
